Generator Probe List
PRO Quick Connect generator probes are precision-engineered stainless-steel rotor-stator tools designed for efficient, repeatable sample homogenization. As essential homogenizer accessories, these probes create the mechanical shear needed to break down tissue, plant material, cells, and particles during sample preparation.
PRO rotor-stator generator probes are available in multiple diameters and lengths to support micro-volume work in microtubes through large-volume processing in multi-liter containers. All probes feature dual-bearing construction, 316 stainless-steel housings, and the PRO Quick Connect interlock for secure, low-vibration coupling and fast, tool-free changeover between samples.
Probe Features
- 316 stainless-steel rotor-stator design for durability and chemical compatibility
- PRO Quick Connect interlock for secure, low-vibration connection
- Dual internal bearings for smooth, long-life operation
- Disassembles and reassembles in seconds for easy cleaning
- Diameters from 5 mm to 59 mm and lengths up to 340 mm
How a PRO Rotor-Stator Generator Probe Works
All PRO Quick Connect generator probes are high-shear rotor-stator tools engineered for efficient sample breakdown. When required, they are capable of reducing particles and tissue to a submicron level, offering rapid and consistent homogenization across a wide range of applications.

Generator Probe FAQs
Q: What does a generator probe do in a homogenizer?
A: The generator probe is the rotor-stator tool that enters your sample and creates the mechanical shear needed to break down tissue, cells, and particles.
Q: How do I choose the right probe size?
A: Start with your volume, container, and homogenizer model. As a general rule, choose a probe that is at least 2× the diameter of your largest solid and appropriate for your tube or beaker size.
Q: Does the probe need to touch the bottom of the container?
A: No. For most samples, the probe works best slightly off-center and about one-third of the sample height above the bottom of the container.
